Dental Insurance: Policy and Transparency

Our Commitment to Your Coverage

Your dental plan is a form of compensation provided by your employer. While we are *not a party to the contractual arrangement* between you and your insurance company, we are dedicated to maximizing your eligible benefits. We will file all necessary claim forms and paperwork for you, often *transmitting claims online before the end of your treatment day!* At all times, you can be confident that we will always provide you with our *best services without regard to the limitations imposed by your insurance coverage*. To do otherwise would compromise the quality of your care.

Understanding Your Dental Benefits

The portion of our fee covered by your carrier is determined by the specific contract between your employer and the insurance company. Reimbursement is typically in the *$40-80\% range, though some plans cover less and some cover more (30% to 100%). Most plans also have a **yearly maximum*.

*Important:* Many plans base the amount of benefit on a *schedule of fees arbitrarily developed by insurance companies, *not the actual fee charged by our office. For example, if your plan promises to pay $80\%$ of a procedure, it means $80\%$ of the fee *arbitrarily determined by the insurance company, not the actual fee you are charged. The **financial obligations for the dental treatment are between you and our office*.

Insurance Acceptance Policy

Our office is very up-to-date on insurance providers and can look up your carrier by your employer name. *We are not part of any provider or HMO plan.* However, we find that in *over $80\%$ of cases*, you still have the freedom to choose your own dentist. We will do our best to maximize your benefits and can even help argue your case if a claim is improperly denied.

Financial Responsibility & Delays

Please remember you are *fully responsible for all fees* charged by this office regardless of your insurance coverage. We will initially ask you only for your *estimated co-payment* before starting the procedure. This is only an estimate based upon the information available to us.
  • *Prompt Remittance:* Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility. Your prompt remittance is appreciated.
  • *Insurance Delays:* Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. If your insurance company postpones payment for *more than 90 days*, we ask that you make the remaining payment while we work together to get the insurance company to pay you their obligations.
  • *Late Payment Fee:* After the *60-day grace period, any remaining balance is subject to **18% Annual Percentage Rate (APR)*.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I set up a monthly payment plan?

To establish a monthly payment plan, you must contact our office and finalize arrangements *before* the scheduled procedure. This plan will cover the portion of fees not covered by your insurance or the full amount for uninsured patients.

What is the difference between your fee and the "arbitrary" insurance fee?

Insurance companies often establish a "Usual and Customary" fee schedule that may be lower than the actual cost of providing high-quality dental care. This means your insurance might pay a lower percentage than you expect. You are responsible for the difference between our actual fee and the amount the insurance company pays.

Why do I have to pay the remaining balance if the insurance delay is over 90 days?

While we file claims immediately, we cannot control insurance processing times. To maintain reasonable billing costs and avoid complications, we ask patients to settle the remaining balance after 90 days of non-payment by the carrier. We will continue to work with the insurance company to ensure they reimburse you directly.

We are here to help clear up any misunderstandings.
